HubSpot Lifecycle Stages
For most 'standard' portals we recommend managing lifecycle stages using the HubSpot Settings.
Sometimes though, managing Lifecycle stages via workflows is preferable:
- if there's multiple changes in a Deal pipeline (eg SQL at start, Opportunity later)
- and then if Deals move backwards based on re-engagement
- there's multiple Closed Won stages (and they don't actually get marked as a Customer till a later one)
Sure you could do a mix of these settings plus workflows, but sometimes having them all as workflows is easier to review.
Also, for portals that use Deal Pipelines to manage marketing and sales qualification processes (ie if they don't use Leads), these are better handled via workflows.
