HubSpot Contact record Number of open deals

Today's tip is from Tara Connolly. Here's her tip (and she also notes some limitations at the end):

There’s a default HubSpot property on Companies: number of open deals.

It doesn’t exist on the Contact record and could be handy for many reasons:

- To trigger or not trigger automated comms e.g. if you are sending automated emails during a deal pipeline process, but don’t want to send the notification to contacts who have a lot of open deals, you could exclude them from the criteria if number of open deals > 10 for example.
- Reporting, if you want to report on Contact/Deal associations rather than Company/Deal associations.
- Flag these contacts for customer success as high touch/needing engagement.

To create this you just need a rollup property on the Contact object:

Rollup type = count

Unformatted number

Associated record type = Deals

(you can even specify an association label at this point or all labels)

Record property to count = Record ID

Additional Condition: Is Open == 1

Only limitation I’ve found is:

- It would be even better if you could have multiple conditions e.g. I want to be able to say is open on this specific pipeline.
- Then I could see number of open deals where contact has X association label on X pipeline, which would be pretty cool.
